Park
Ridge Park District's Preschool offers structured programming
for 2, 3 & 4 year olds.
Our Preschool Program emphasizes socialization and self-expression
through,
manipulatives,
art, music, fine and gross motor skills, and hands-on activities.
Socialization, (not academics) is our main focus for our
2 & 3 year old program. Our 4 year old program includes
some academics along with socialization activities.
Our
Preschool Program is certified by the Illinois Department
of Children and Family Services
(DCFS) and all our staff
meet the qualifications set forth by this agency. Maximum
staff to student ratio is 1:9 for 3 & 4 year old classrooms
and 1:8 for 2 year old classrooms. Our classrooms are an
even mix of boys and girls.
2 Year Old Program
This class is without
an adult – so it is best if your
child has some experience in one of our early childhood classes.
The focus is on socialization, individual growth, and play.
All children must be completely toilet trained.

3 Year Old Program
Children will be introduced to numbers, letters, shapes,
and color identification to prepare them for the 4 year
old preschool class. All children must be completely toilet
trained.

Year Old Program
(Pre-Kindergarten Class)
Pre-Kindergarten skills will be covered such as printing
their name, reinforcement of letters, numbers, colors, shapes,
cutting, pasting, and other fine and gross motor skills.
Socialization is still a very important part of the program.
